About

corto.alto is a music project formed in Glasgow by multi-instrumentalist Liam Shortall. The debut album, Bad With Names, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize "Album of the Year" in 2024. Shortall has Spanish ancestry, and the name corto.alto translates from Spanish as "short.tall"—a playful reference to his last name, Shortall.
