The legendary founder, songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist of the band Low, Alan Sparhawk, will perform one of his most impressive shows on the evening of June 14 at Blind, with the support of %100 Müzik.
LOW: THE STORY OF A LEGEND
Founded in 1993 by Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, Low perfectly reflected minimalism and emotional intensity in their music, becoming one of the pioneers and most significant bands of post-rock and slowcore movements. Throughout their career, the band released over 20 albums and EPs, gaining a global fanbase. Their albums, especially Things We Lost in the Fire, Trust, and The Great Destroyer, became iconic and appeared on many "Album of the Year" lists. Their album HEY WHAT was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Album due to its innovative approach, showcasing Low's musical success.
Low concerts have provided a mystical experience, often putting listeners into a trance. The band toured with major names like Arcade Fire, Radiohead, and Explosions in the Sky, performing at prestigious festivals such as Primavera Sound, Pitchfork Festival, and All Tomorrow's Parties, leaving a lasting mark on the alternative music scene. Additionally, David Bowie’s mention of Low’s influence in his 2002 album Heathen further proved the band's deep impact on alternative music.
After the untimely passing of Mimi Parker in 2022, Low closed a chapter, while Alan Sparhawk took his musical journey to a new dimension. Preserving the spirit and legacy of the band, Sparhawk transforms Low's melancholy and experimental essence into an unforgettable narrative with his new project.
Alan Sparhawk’s new album WHITE ROSES, MY GOD is filled with themes of grief, transformation, and musical exploration. Taking on all the instruments, vocals, and production, Sparhawk enters a new musical universe with experimental elements and striking vocals. The album draws inspiration from sources ranging from Childish Gambino to 100 Gecs, Neil Young to Prince.
This special concert, blending the deep melodies of Low with Sparhawk’s new works, promises an unforgettable musical experience for the audience.
