Squid: The Post-Punk Group Described by The Times as "Music That’s Absolutely Worth Losing Yourself In" Will Make Their Istanbul Debut at Blind on October 5thThanks to %100 Müzik, the post-punk group Squid, described by The Times as "music that’s absolutely worth losing yourself in," will perform at Blind in Istanbul for the first time on the evening of October 5th.
Hailing from Brighton, England, and known for their performances at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Rock en Seine, the band consists of lead singer and drummer Ollie Judge, guitarists Louis Borlase and Anton Pearson, bassist Laurie Nankivell, and keyboardist Arthur Leadbetter.
Their latest release, “O Monolith,” is a follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album, “Bright Green Field,” which topped the UK album charts in 2021. Like its predecessor, “O Monolith” is intense, intricate, and features a warmer, more winding, and exploratory character. The album is filled with melodic epiphanies and layered sounds, serving as a musical evocation of environmentalism, domesticity, and the band's own created folklore. It captures modern anxieties and future outlooks, viewed through a distinct British lens.

Prior to Squid, the concert will be warmed up by Yangın, the best emerging representative of post-punk music in Turkey.
Yangın, known for their album “Plastiki,” which highlights themes such as the transience of time, love, grief, and destiny, released last year. The band features Theo Kaya on vocals, Bora Yavrucuk and Efe Sanlav on electric guitars, Ege Soydan on drums, and Sarp Gürkan on bass guitar.
