We cannot talk about the underground scene in Mexico without mentioning Omar Labastida, one of the most established Mexicans within the “Tech House” genre. Representative & Official DJ of the largest electronic music festival in Mexico “The BPM Festival” who since its first edition in 2008 Omar's name has appeared in the line up and he has shared the stage with artists such as (Dubfire, Sharam, Carl Cox, Sander Van Doorn, Luciano, Nic Fanciulli, Danny Tenaglia, Green Velvet, Guti, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Maya Jane Coles, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Hot Since 82, Maceo Plex, The Martinez Brothers) among all the musical monsters. He has been a resident DJ since 2002 at the most important club in Playa Del Carmen “BLUE PARROT” and is one of the icons of underground music in the Mexican Caribbean. He has signed with major labels such as “Younan Music, Stereo, Deeperfect, Blue Orb Recs, RPO Recs” and has more than 200 songs in beatport between remixes and originals… Winner of the award for best Mexican DJ from Tech House within the “Dj World Music Conference” that takes place every year in Mexico.
