After a youth spent making mixtapes for his friends with artists ranging from Michael Jackson, Nirvana to Pink Floyd and Baris Manco, Kaan started DJing in earnest in Bournemouth in 1998, where he turned his ears to electronic music, started his record collection and began playing student parties. Around this time he also started experimenting with computer based production, developing his musical skills further at Istanbul’s Bilgi University.In 2003 Kaan began a radio show on Istanbul’s Dinamo 103.8, shortly after he set up his first studio to begin producing professionally. Now with a deep interest in Detroit Techno to Slow Motion Disco, Jazz to Folk, Kaan began laying down the party tunes at ‘Tuesday Swings’ at the legendary Little Otto in Istanbul from 2009 till 2012. The parties led to the birth of Vesvese, a record label, radio show, podcast, party series and more from Istanbul including both local and universal artists. He is one of the 60 lucky participants of the Red Bull Music Academy 2013 in New York City. During his DJ sets expect to hear a variety of genres from Kaan Duzarat; Techno, House, Disco, Folk, Jazz, Dub and Electronica. Listen a little deeper and you will also get a glimpse of his re-edits and remixes working both as a solo producer and as part of local collectives such as FOC Edits and Falso.
