Dubstract began his musical journey as a punk drummer at a young age, performing in various punk bands and shaping his roots in alternative music scenes and He pursued a double major in university, completing his studies in musicology and grounding his passion with academic depth.
His transition into DJing came in 1999, with sets that explored breakbeat and abstract hip-hop. Over the years, he expanded his creative reach by working as a music director and venue curator across Istanbul. His influence shaped the sound of key spots such as Air, Blanco, Unique, Peyote, Arkaoda, Gizlibahçe and Indigo, Eventually, he founded Pixie Underground, a pivotal venue in the city’s underground club scene.
A true pioneer of dub and drum & bass in Turkey, Dubstract also produced the first radio show dedicated to these genres on Açık Radyo, laying the groundwork for their rise in the local landscape.
