Rafet El Roman was born on August 25, 1968, in the Uzunköprü district of Edirne, Turkey.
In 1995, he returned to Turkey and released his debut solo album Gençliğin Gözyaşları (Tears of Youth).
In 1997, he released his second album titled En Güzel Günler Senin Olsun (May the Best Days Be Yours).
He achieved great success once again in 1999 with his third album Hayat Hüzünlü (Life is Melancholy).
In 2000, he released his fourth album Hanımeli (Honeysuckle).
In 2002, he presented his fifth album 5 NR Aşk to his fans.
In the summer of 2004, he released his sixth album Sürgün (Exile), which reached remarkable sales figures (730,000 copies).
In 2005, celebrating his tenth year in music, he released his seventh album Kalbimin Sultanı (The Sultan of My Heart).
His eighth album Gönül Yarası (Heartache) was released in 2006.
In 2008, Rafet El Roman released Bir Roman Gibi (Like a Novel), which gained wide acclaim.
In 2011, he shared his ninth album Sevgiye Zaman Ver (Give Love Some Time) with music lovers.
In 2013, he released his tenth album Yadigar (Souvenir).
In 2016, he released his eleventh studio album Mecnun, in which he re-recorded two of his earlier songs: Hayat Hüzünlü and Şu Hayatta.
In November 2018, his duet with Derya Ürkmez titled Unuturum Elbet (I’ll Forget Eventually) topped all music platforms for an extended period.
In September 2021, he reunited with his fans with his 13th solo album Sırrına Eremeyiz (We Can't Comprehend Your Secret).
