Opening a new chapter in his musical journey, Anathema co-founder and vocalist Vincent Cavanagh presents his solo project, The Radicant. More than a music project, The Radicant is a multi-layered experience conceived as a cinematic audiovisual performance that brings together sound, visual arts, and technology. The project’s name, “Radicant,” comes from a concept describing organisms that move forward by creating new roots—an idea that directly informs Cavanagh’s artistic approach. The Radicant’s debut EP, “We Ascend,” draws from the atmospheric world long associated with Anathema, while venturing into a more experimental and electronic musical territory. The EP showcases a broad sonic palette, ranging from drum’n’bass rhythms to cinematic electronic textures. Interweaving melodic psychedelia, ambient, and electronic elements, the release offers Anathema listeners a familiar emotional depth while clearly revealing Cavanagh’s exploration of new expressive spaces. The recording process was completed with French producer Ténèbre, resulting in a powerful, clear production rich in visual resonance. With The Radicant, Vincent Cavanagh transforms music from a purely auditory narrative into a form that directly engages with visual arts. His previous work—spanning exhibitions, installations, and collaborations with artists from various disciplines—laid the foundation for this approach. The Radicant’s first Turkey tour will take place on April 11, 2026 at Tosca Play, April 12 at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş, and April 13 at SoldOut Performance Hall. This tour offers the chance to experience Vincent Cavanagh’s new creative era as a live, holistic journey—while rediscovering Anathema’s timeless spirit in a strikingly new form.
