Mikla opened in October 2005 with the idea of creating a contemporary "Istanbulite" restaurant. While creating Mikla, the chef and co-founder Mehmet Gürs reflected his Turkish and Scandinavian knowledge with a striking balance to the general texture and enabled him to become the pioneer of Mikla's example. Mikla was chosen as the best restaurant in Istanbul in a short time with its visionary, refined dishes, breathtaking scenery, modern presentation and inspiring music. Today it continues to receive significant praise in both local and international evaluations. With the concept of "New Anatolian Cuisine" created in August 2012, Mikla added another plus to its mission of quality food and managed to raise the pioneering bar it has kept in the local and international platforms. In Mikla, who defends the belief that every material used reflects the traditions of those lands and people, "generally modest" but "noble" materials that are carefully selected from every corner of Anatolia are interpreted with great respect. Mikla has been on the "The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants" list since 2015.
