Founded in Tunisia in 2001 and later relocating to France to claim their place on the international stage, Myrath ushered in a new era in metal with a unique sound where melodic riffs, cinematic orchestral textures, and rhythms rooted in African, Indian, and European traditions collide—aptly described as blazing desert metal. Formed in the city of Ez-Zahra by a young guitarist Malek Ben Arbia, Myrath takes its name from the Arabic word “mirâth,” meaning heritage or legacy. In their early years, the band performed blues, heavy metal, and death metal covers before quickly turning to original compositions, forging a powerful synthesis of Eastern and Western musical traditions. Today, Myrath stands out not only for their music, but also for their story—one that bridges two worlds. By fusing their North African roots with the force of metal, they have performed across the globe since the release of their 2011 album “Tales of the Sands.” With their 2024 release “Karma,” the band returned with a renewed vision and fresh creative energy. After addressing audiences from the stage of Freedoom Metal Fest in 2024, Myrath now returns to Turkey as part of their “Wilderness of Mirrors” tour. The European leg of the tour will kick off at IF Beşiktaş, offering fans the chance to experience Myrath’s singular atmosphere up close—crushing guitars interwoven with Middle Eastern melodies, powerful vocals, and striking stage visuals.
