Mercan is one of the pioneering figures of the Turkish electropop scene. Beginning her musical journey as a lead vocalist in school bands, she later studied at the Hacettepe University State Conservatory. During her early career, she gained valuable stage experience performing in hotels, nightclubs, and as part of TRT, Turkey’s national broadcaster. Seeking to broaden her artistic vision, Mercan spent time in Istanbul, Berlin, and London, where she explored emerging musical trends and influences.
She gained wider recognition with the release of her debut solo album *Sana Değil Kardeşine* in 2010. Blending electronic music with pop sensibilities, Mercan quickly stood out with her distinctive vocal style and innovative approach to songwriting. Widely regarded as one of the artists who helped popularize electropop in Turkey, she continues to captivate audiences through her unique sound and forward-thinking musical identity.
