İngiliz alternatif rock grubu bôa was formed in London in 1992 by Ed Herten (drums), Paul Turrell (keyboards/arrangement), Steve Rodgers (guitar/vocals), Alex Caird (bass guitar), Jasmine Rodgers (guitar/vocals), and Ben Henderson (guitar/saxophone). When Ed Herten left the band in 1994, Lee Sullivan joined, helping shape the group’s classic lineup.
Released in 1998 and featured on the soundtrack of the cult Japanese anime series Serial Experiments Lain, “Duvet” became the band’s most iconic track. Years later, in late 2021, the song went viral again on social media, reaching millions of new listeners. This unexpected resurgence significantly boosted streams across the band’s entire catalogue and introduced bôa to a new generation.
Following the renewed success of “Duvet,” the band became active again. The current lineup consists of Jasmine Rodgers (vocals/guitar), Alex Caird (bass/guitar), and Lee Sullivan (drums). Strong fan demand and the rediscovery of their earlier work encouraged the band to create new music.
During this period, bôa signed with Nettwerk Music Group and released Whiplash in 2024, followed by the expanded Whiplash Deluxe in 2026. In this new era, the band has been touring extensively across the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and Turkey, reconnecting with both longtime fans and a new audience.
