Savatage has made a lasting impact on the metal scene with a career spanning over 20 years, 11 albums, and performances around the world. Blending thrash, power, and progressive metal with classic hard rock and orchestral elements, the band has built a loyal fanbase.
Founded in Florida by brothers Jon Oliva and Criss Oliva, the group achieved major success with albums like Hall of the Mountain King and Streets: A Rock Opera. However, the death of Criss Oliva significantly changed the band’s direction. Despite this, Savatage made a strong comeback with Dead Winter Dead, which also inspired the creation of Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Over time, the band embraced a more theatrical style, and their powerful reunion performance at a major festival in 2015 proved that their influence remains strong.
