Born in Osaka in 1979 and of Zambian heritage, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U began their DJ career in 2008. They quickly gained attention for high-energy performances and the ability to ignite the crowd. 2014 marked a turning point: they played alongside DJ NOBU & NHK’Koyxen at THE NAMINOHANA SPECIAL, a party named after a famous record shop in Osaka. This performance earned them an invitation from Berlin’s cutting-edge collective FUTURE TERROR, opening a new chapter in their career. In 2015, every weekend they shared the stage with Cut Hands, PAN members (Bill, Lee, M.E.S.H., T.C.F.), and Adam X; the trio Lee x M.E.S.H. x ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U delivered an unforgettable set at BTOB. In November, they performed a “man-to-man” set with Marcel Fengler, and in December collaborated with Oneohtrix Point Never and YPY. In 2016, they launched their own concept party, Zone Unknown. The event hosted Shapednoise, Imaginary Forces, Kamixlo, Aïsha Devi, Palmistry, Endgame, Equiknoxx, and Rabit, and in June Arca lent vocals to their DJ set. From 2017 to 2019, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U played Berlin Atonal three years in a row, making a name for themselves on the international stage. From Osaka to world-renowned venues, this rhythmic journey has established ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U as one of the most exciting figures in electronic music.
