Zakkum is a Turkish alternative rock band founded in Ankara in 1999 under the name Raindog. The band performed nearly a thousand live shows as Raindog before deciding to adopt a Turkish name during their album work, choosing the name "Zakkum."
Formation
The roots of the band date back to 1998. While Cem Senyücel, Yusuf Demirkol, and Eren Parlakgümüş were pursuing their musical careers separately, they came together with the idea of forming a band.
