Born from the imagination of Tolga Böyük, Islandman is a musical trio completed by Erdem Başer’s psychedelic guitar work and Eralp Güven’s meditative percussion. Blending acoustic and electronic sounds, the group creates a distinctive sonic world shaped by ambient textures, Anatolian influences, modal melodies, and ceremonial percussion. Their discography, which began with Rest in Space in 2017, continued to evolve through Kaybola, Godless Ceremony, and Popsicle Obstacle. In their latest chapter, described as “Neo-Turkish Psychedelia,” Islandman brings together analog synths, traditional musical elements, and modern electronic production. Inspired by the multilayered spirit of Istanbul, the trio delivers live performances that move between psychedelic, meditative, and dance-driven sounds.
